Spring is in the air.  The birds are singing, (at 4:00 in the morning no less) the sun is shining and it has been a sultry 74 degrees here in Utah for the last couple of days.  This type of weather only makes me long for the heat and humidity that only a beach can bring.  Long hot humid days, cool crystal water and the crystalline sand between my toes.

This got me thinking about a fun beachy read called: On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves. Anna, an English teacher, is hired by a family to tutor their son that is in remission from cancer.  As they travel to the Maldive islands, the pilot has a heart attack and their seaplane crashes into the ocean.  From there, they make it to an uninhabited island and have to find a way to survive with next to no survival skills.

Their survival will blossom into something unexpected and show that love and age can often blur those boundary lines.

So on these days, where the beach is calling your name and you’ve nowhere to escape to except for in a book.  Dive into this warm beachy read called: On The IslandSome stories just have a way of transporting you to the places we crave most in our lives.  The beach is where I will escape to today, where will you?
