The naked truth

it-ends-with-us-by-colleen-hoover“There is no such thing as bad people. We’re all just people who sometimes do bad things.”

There is not much I can say about this book without giving spoilers.  What I can say is that everyone should read this book.  Even those who are not romance book lover’s should read this since this book contains real life situations that are NOT pretty or always romantic. Sometime we get caught up in the idea that all romance books have their story all tied up in a pretty little bow.  This one is pretty and ugly and beautiful and devastating.

Lily Bloom.  She is a quick, smart, determined beautiful redhead who loves to watch Ellen DeGeneres.  Her life goal is to open a unique flower shop.  Go figure right?    What she does not count on is falling for a man that she met one lonely night on a roof top apartment building in Boston.  Her “naked truths” begin with Ryle, an up and coming neurosurgeon that only does one night stands.  Their connection that night will unfold in a chain of events never to be forgotten.

This story is unlike anything Colleen Hoover has written up to this point.  Where normally her female characters are somewhat weak in the beginning, Lily is not that weak weepy little girl.  She is strong, she knows who she is and her character development throughout the story just shows us how strong she really is.

There are two love stories in this one.  I can guarantee that you will fall in love with both of these relationships.  Sometimes you will hate and most of the time you will love them.  But what is love without hate and hate without love?

Her story is deeply personal and very bittersweet.  I am still reeling from yesterday when I finished up this book.  It makes me feel as though I just experienced the grief and loss and loves that all the characters felt.  It may be a minute before I can pick up another book, cause you know; book hangover.
